Local pilot named to RCAF demonstration team

A Grande Prairie pilot is about to take to the skies. The Royal Canadian Air Force has announced that Captain Brian Kilroy will be the pilot for the 2019 CF-18 Demonstration Team. Kilroy says he’s excited and honoured to have this opportunity.

“Being chosen to represent the Royal Canadian Air Force as the 2019 CF-18 Demonstration Pilot is a true honour and I can’t wait to meet the rest of my team and start the season.”

Kilroy was born in Grande Prairie and grew up in Stony Plain. He joined the air force in 2006 to pursue a career as a fighter pilot. Since then, he has been on numerous missions with NATO and the Canadian Armed Forces.

In 2019, he will be flying a specially painted CF-18 hornet at airshows all across Canada starting in Val d’Or, Quebec on June 8th and 9th.
