Firefighters were called to Sexsmith Secondary Sunday. Peace Wapiti Public School Division says a partially frozen pipe in the sprinkler system set off an alarm.
Repairs are reportedly underway and it is expected that the school will be open at its usual time Monday morning. Any decisions on bus cancellations due to extreme cold conditions will be made by 6 a.m.
