A preliminary hearing this week should determine if there’s enough evidence to try a man for the murder of his teen girlfriend. Justice Watt-Blais is charged with the second-degree murder of 16-year-old Hannah Sutton.
Hannah was found dead in a home in the area of 94 Avenue and 100 Street on December 16, 2017. An autopsy determined she died from a gunshot wound.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at the Grande Prairie Court House. Watt-Blais was 19-years-old at the time of his arrest.
Three other men and a then-teenage boy were also charged with accessory after the fact to murder. A preliminary hearing for Darian Chonkolay, Austin Haynes, and David Comber is set for April 29th to May 10th.
