UPDATE: Two water leaks lead to small power outages

UPDATE: ATCO Electric says repairs are underway on the city’s water main break. The current estimate for power restoration is 9 p.m. Wednesday.

A pair of water leaks have led to small power outages in Grande Prairie. One has 48 ATCO Electric customers without power southeast of Costco, while the other has 22 customers in the dark in Countryside North.

The estimated time of restoration for Countryside North is 6:30 p.m. while the area by Costco should be back on by 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Aquatera says 16 homes are also experiencing low water due to the leak.

“All affected residents have been notified and our crews are working diligently to resolve this,” says Public Relations and Communications Specialist Sarah Martin.

We will update when we learn more.
