Food for Fines on at the Grande Prairie Public Library

Grande Prairie residents who may be a little tardy in returning their library books will have a chance today and tomorrow to pay their late fees with a donation to the local food bank.

The Food for Fines program means donations of non-perishable food items and toiletries will be accepted in lieu of charges.

Last year, nearly 1,200 items were collected, worth $2,500 of late fees.

The library is open until 9 p.m. tonight and from 10 to 6 Friday.
