Whitecourt RCMP investigating fatal multi-vehicle collision

One person has died following a multi-vehicle collision that took place around 8:30 A.M. about 30 kilometers west of Whitecourt.

The Whitecourt RCMP says a preliminary investigation has determined the lone male occupant driving a semi-truck was rear-ended by another semi-truck while travelling east on Highway 43. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) attended the scene this morning as well. Whitecourt RCMP with the assistance of the RCMP Collision Analyst continues to investigate the collision.

Traffic is being diverted with the assistance of Ledcor highway services along Highway 43 near Virginia Hills Road.
