57th COVID-19 death reported in Grande Prairie

Another COVID-19 related death has been reported in the City of Grande Prairie, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 57 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Across the province, eight new deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. The only death reported in the North zone Tuesday was a man in his 70s whose case involved pre-existing conditions.

Grande Prairie added 11 COVID-19 recoveries, 16 new cases, and now has 287 active cases, up from 283 on Monday. The County of Grande Prairie added 8 new cases of COVID-19, bringing their active case total to 126. Two recoveries were reported as well in the County.

Alberta overall has seen an additional 4,704 cases reported in the past 24 hours. 708 people are currently being treated for COVID-19 in hospital, with 80 requiring the ICU. The province sits at 58,613 active cases.
