An extreme cold warning has been issued for much of the Grande Prairie region, with the expectation that temperatures could fall as low as minus 45 overnight.Â
Grande Prairie looked like a certain four-letter word frozen over on the morning of February 4th, with temperatures dipping down as low as minus 38 degrees, making the Grande Prairie region one of the coldest places in Canada, and the world.Â
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Grande Prairie region with upwards of 25 centimetres of snow expected before it's all said and done. Officials say the snow will kick off Thursday night, and it's expected to intensify throughout Friday before tapering off on Saturday.
The County of Grande Prairie is advising drivers to use extreme caution and slow down or avoid the area of Emerson Trail and Range Road 74 entirely due to a collision in the area.Â
A snowfall warning has been issued for much of the Grande Prairie area, with the expectation that 10 to 15 centimetres will fall overnight and into Wednesday.Â
