Grande Prairie celebrated Dry January in its own way this year, with very little snow all month long; however, the snowless streak came to an end on the 28th, prompting removal crews to begin their work once again.Â
Yesterday was a busy night for the Alberta RCMP, with officers responding to a total of 149 reported collisions, which led them to issue a province-wide warning for motorists to stay off the roads.Â
The County of Grande Prairie is advising drivers to use extreme caution and slow down or avoid the area of Emerson Trail and Range Road 74 entirely due to a collision in the area.Â
The City of Grande Prairie is once again offering its free community sandbox to help residents keep their sidewalks and driveways safe during the cold season.Â
A snowfall warning has been issued for much of the Grande Prairie region, with the expectation between 10 and 20 centimetres of snow will fall during the first part of the weekend.Â
