The Fox Creek RCMP has responded to numerous collisions in both the north and southbound lanes on Highway 43 near Two Creeks, and drivers are being asked to avoid the area as a result.Â
Grande Prairie celebrated Dry January in its own way this year, with very little snow all month long; however, the snowless streak came to an end on the 28th, prompting removal crews to begin their work once again.Â
Yesterday was a busy night for the Alberta RCMP, with officers responding to a total of 149 reported collisions, which led them to issue a province-wide warning for motorists to stay off the roads.Â
The County of Grande Prairie is advising drivers to use extreme caution and slow down or avoid the area of Emerson Trail and Range Road 74 entirely due to a collision in the area.Â
The winter season can be challenging for drivers, with ice, snow, and fog creating a serious hazard on swan city's roads, so the Grande Prairie RCMP is encouraging drivers to practice proper headlight etiquette to make their morning commute a bit easier.Â
Given the nature of Grande Prairie's recent snow dumps, amounting to more than 60 centimetres, the City of Grande Prairie has given some further explanation into what snow removal looks like on the swan city's roads.Â
